Macro / Playing with kenko extension tubes
« on: February 23, 2015, 03:37:46 PM »
Had some fun this weekend, tried the kenko tubes. Tried with different settings, different amount of tubes etc.

This one 70-200 and 48mm (or 56mm, can't remember this shot) tubes, handheld :p

Do most people use real macro lenses, or are the tubes good enough?

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 7D Classic Good Enough for Pros?

One of my favorite shot was with Rebel XTi, another with 7D. Currently I have better bodies.

However, after getting 5D3, I tried 7D couple times and I hated the AF. I shot similar event I had been shooting recently with 5D3, and normal keeper (for focus reasons) on 5D3 was ~90%, 7D was <50%.

But given certain restrictions, there's nothing wrong with 7D. New cameras just do certain things better.

use of deadly force in response to a property crime is legally prohibited.

Stealing camera is legally prohibited too.

Sorry for your loss. Hope you get money from insurance to cover the new stuff.

Great action shot, tpatana!
Very rarely that you get to see and feel the intensity, speed and how hard a kendoka can hit with those oversized chop sticks (=shinai).

+1

Nicely done tpatana.

Thanks :)

It's awesome sports. And after I get eliminated from my matches, I can get back to shooting pics. Not technically win-win, more like a consolidation prize :)

I have the Dell 3011. It's pretty cool, but also pricey. I think many 27" models are good point between quality/size and price. If I'd had to buy something today, I'd probably get 2x 27". Now I have the 30", and another 24" Dell for side (on portrait orientation).

1Dx & 400f/2.8 II @ f/2.8

I guess it won't be long now & this thread will be somewhat defunct, everyone will be posting to the 1Dx II & 5Ds/R threads.

Still, until then, the 1Dx has been without a doubt the most satisfying piece of Camera gear I've ever used.

WONDERFUL, WONDERFUl as always.

This one with 200mm f2 IS @ f2

That's a very nice photo Dylan. I like it!

I like the feeling on that, awesome.

200/2 is on my bucket list after I win the lottery.

Tried my new camera and new-ish lens for the first time.

Did you take a bite?
A good mood shot, very well executed. Made me smile.
Thank you!

Thanks :)

When she held out the apple and made funny faces, it looked so funny and cute I started laughing. Had to take couple deep breaths until I was able to keep shooting.

It'll start at $4199, and in less than 6 months it'll be at $3499.

Trust me.

Why should we trust you?  You've been wrong many times before.

I say $3799.

I'm happy to put $5 bet that my guess ($4199) is closer than your guess ($3799).
