Wow, just got shipping notification from Beach.  Got the price, free shipping no tax and it's on the way.  Upgrading from a 50D to a 5DIII  !!!!      The very slight downside?  my Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX will likely not work on this body and I only have 2 L lens, an old 70-200 f4 non IS and a 24-105L.  Oh, and my funds are now tapped

Mine just shipped (free) too. not bad at all and double checked they are an authorized reseller.

My other camera is a 7D but have been careful to stay with EF lenses as I anticipated adding a full frame when my camera work income could justify it. I am interested to see how my Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 will work on it. I have seen some samples on the web that have severe vignetting but not sure what the focal length is at in those shots. it would be great if it was usable at 15mm or so. I need something around that equivalent for real estate photos. Until I can afford a t/s or 14mm L might just have to keep using my 7D

For ultra-wide angle, look into the Samyang 14mm. It's a killer lens. The distortion is easily fixed in processing.

hmm, i have the pro-optic 8mm and it's really soft. used it a handful of times and gave it to my son for shooting skateboarding. I think I would rather just stay with my 7D and the sigma until I can get a bigger gig to justify it. For typical real estate stuff that is web listings it will be fine. thanks for the info though, definitely worth a consideration.

Just got mine (Rokinon rebadge) and have to agree.  This lens is really nice and sharp.

After passing Adorama's and BC's ebay deals I pulled the trigger and took B&H's kit. (oh I have to correct my signature :-) )

It seems that the sell isn't going as fast as in the last two deals.

It's hard to be smart, but I belive if people paid $3500 for it, it is definetly worth getting it for $2900 from an authorized dealer.

Will it be cheaper than $2700 at Christmas or Thanksgiving? I highy doubt it, but you never know.

I bought the $2750 Adorama model recently, and just bought a LP-E6 battery from Adorama with the ebay bucks from the camera purchase.  I had to kick in $3.84.
Those deals from Beach Camera and B&H will earn you enough ebay bucks to buy a Genuine Canon battery maybe more.
