I was really frustrated with the camera/lens prices when I lived in Europe as well.
Isn't there any price drop in the Europe too?

This is quite odd. The headline reads "Canon EOS 5D Mark II Body..." but the comments in thread are about the "the sales of the Mark III." Looks like a mixed up of several threads jumbled into one.

BigValueInc is not a Canon authorized dealer, so it's basically up to Canon's courtesy whether or not they'll service the item. However, they obviously want to mislead people to believe they'd get USA product with USA warranty. A scam to me.

After passing Adorama's and BC's ebay deals I pulled the trigger and took B&H's kit. (oh I have to correct my signature :-) )

It seems that the sell isn't going as fast as in the last two deals.

It's hard to be smart, but I belive if people paid $3500 for it, it is definetly worth getting it for $2900 from an authorized dealer.

Will it be cheaper than $2700 at Christmas or Thanksgiving? I highy doubt it, but you never know.

These sales more than likely represent the above trying to get rid of stock that they thought they would sell but haven't (for whatever reason.) I can't see these sales being replicated around Christmas.

I pulled the trigger on the $2799 price as it was just too good to pass up, especially after Canon's recent price increases with their MAP. Also, for those interested, a few days ago I contacted Adorama and they said they can offer the 5DIII at $3050-- below their website price of $3300 if anyone is interested.

That's the price we pay for mandatory 2-year warranty (and a lot of other extra taxes). Not pretty, but may be worth it to some.

 better get ready to start feeling warm and fuzzy about these deals from unauthorized sellers with the chance you won't have a honored warrantee by canon USA because its going to be the only way to save a little cash on gear going forward. That being said this outfit has 99% positive feedback on eBay and they sell a ton of items...you don't get that by jerking people around. I'd say if you don't want to pay full boat at adorama, BH, ET al, this is probably a safe bet.
