Thanks. I thought I'd never see the 5D2 refurbished that low.
You can get a used 5D II on CL for $1200 or less.
Of course, there is no warranty or return on a 4 year old CL body with 20K exposures.
The Refurbished Canon 5D MK II I bought had only 135 shutter actuations on it. it had 14 day return rights and 90 day warranty, but it was perfect.
So...what do you do after 90day warranty? Do you think the next refu 5D II from Canon will have same shutter count as your?
What do you do after the 6 minute warranty from Craigslist? I tried a search for 1200 dollar 5D MK II's on craigslist. many of them are asking $1700 or more, which is clueless. After checking several listings, I found one that was described as well worn.
http://austin.craigslist.org/pho/3360074950.htmlI'm sure that if you are willing to travel a few hundred miles, you can find one, but there are none within 300 miles from me at any price.
The 5D MK II refurbs that Canon sells are typically demos or new returns with very little use. However, if a $1200 CL model is available and its excellent, go for it.
