I received a bunch of new messages regarding the 1Ds Mark IV yesterday.

All of them stated the camera would be available at Photokina.

No stats were given beyond a 29mp sensor from one person.

Will there be an announcement pre-Photokina?

I am pretty sure there will be another announcement before Photokina that is not 60D, 2000D or another compact camera. Canon will hold something in it's sleeve. The coming thursday announcement can be seen a pre-photokina, but there is also another big consumer electronics show in Germany that is called IFA which these consumer product announcements are actually part of.

Every rumor in which 60D or similar is mentioned in conjunction with 1D the discussion of the lower model takes over. Let's keep at least _pure_ rumors about the 1D clear from that.
