Yeah I grabbed one with the deal for $2499 and no tax living in NY (BigValue is NJ). Was a total impulse as I was looking at the 5D II or per-ordering the 6D but for that I had to pull trigger

I almost bought a Mark II through the canon store last night for $1320+tax with the refurb price being 25% and didnt pull the trigger.

I figured if I can sell my 60D+10-22 combo now for $1000 or so that will make difference up.

Excited to finally be stepping up to the FF world.

Something tells me that they're all Australian retail shops, and as soon as they get them they'll put them in their windows for AU$3800. Then months later when only 1 poor sucker has boughtone they'll complain to the newspapers about "online shopping is killing aussie retailers", and all of us will laugh...

dst, me too. Except I have a whole list of lenses that I don't use, are doubles of ones I have, that I need to sell "once i've taken some sample photos and evalualted the sharpest to keep..." (like that'll ever happen)

Ugh, they sold out before I got to them.  Anyone know of any other opportunity to get in at that pricepoint, either through them or someone else?  I'm not even seeing them used for that cheap!

interesting indeed.  so i guess all the fear regarding MAP (min adv price) was all for nothing.  doesn't seem to apply to ebay which is nice!

also loving the new sub $3k price point for the mkIII.  let the customers vote with their wallet!
