canon 1d mark iii 21.1 mp or the 5d mark ii

I am considering purchasing another canon body and I am interested in a full frame sensor. I see that the canon 1d mark iii 21.1 mp and the 5d mark ii come with a full frame sensors. However, there are some differences in their autofocus points, ISO range and frames per second. I currently own a canon 7d body and some sigma lens (24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8 & 120-300mm f/2.. I am leaning more toward the canon 1d mark iii but one of my concerns is the ISO range. The ISO range is lower than the 7d and 5d. Your suggestions and options would greatly be appreciated.

Be Careful! I assume that you merely made a typo, but to be sure, I've pointed this out.
The 1D Mark III is not 21.1mp and is not FF.
The 1DS Mark is the 21.1mp FF body. (Note the "S" after the 1D
The 1DS MK III does not do video, but would be a obvious choice over the 5D MK II for stills merely because of its better build.

The 1D III is APS-H, you mean the 1Ds III.

Compared to the 5DII, the 1DsIII has better build, better AF, higher fps, faster Xsync, etc. 

What about the 5DIII - have you considered that?

Its differs a lot of things between the 1Ds3 and 5Dmk2 MK3. The color filters are tad sharper in 1dsmk3, and the red channel is more like  the old 5Dmk1
The biggest difference you see in the yellow-green color, with tons resolution takes on a whole different character. Then WB is because of the filters  balance is  a little differently, R + B is a little weaker in the 5dmk3  - probably planned so that it will "tolerate" more  weirder WB temperatures (as 2800K) and do the camera more sensitive to higher iso.

Im  beta  testing different  profiles for another company, and there are different CFA and tonal response , you can come close but there are differentcies, as for example Nikons CFA , 1dsmk3 CFA and old 5d CFA compared to  the latest Canon with thinner CFA
And passport does not generate the best profiles.

While most of the older cameras you have been looking at are perfectly fine, I think a 5D3 would be a much neater fit with your 7D than any of these. It's feature set and layout will be immediately familiar to a 7D shooter. And why not benefit from the most up to date features, sensor, processors, firmware? With the 5D3 prices looking more attractive by the minute, it makes a fairly compelling case for itself.

Also, having owned and worked with all the cameras you've mentioned on a daily basis, I'd reach for the 5D3 over any of them for most of my commercial jobs and personal projects.

I suggest the 5D3 as a companion to your 7D.  I have both and I can switch between them without any issues.

I picked up a used 1Ds II almost two years ago and hated it, because of the weight and the unfamiliar controls.  Sold it after two months.  I'm a studio photographer, not a combat photographer, so my cameras don't need to be built like a tank.

You would help the group by giving some info as to what you're shooting.  FF is nice, but depending on what you're going for, models and costs can go all over the place.  You said high ISO seems to worry you, but would a 5d classic and a faster lens be a better pairing (f1.4-f2)?  Is what you're shooting strobe friendly?  Would that be a better investment until the 6D is in stores?

The 5d3 is the be all end all, but you may not like it with the glass you currently have.  Make sure you test what ever body with the lenses you own - last thing you want is to have an issue crop up.

My interest in a second body is because I mainly used my 70-200mm & 120-300mm sigmas on my 7d and at time I need a short lens readily available. I photograph my kids when they are playing sports, wildlife, family photos and some landscape. Some gyms have terrible lighting and that is why I am concern with ISO. I like the full frame due to the image quality.

l loved my 1Ds Mark III but if you're concerned about low light/high iso shooting I'd recommend the 5D Mark III hands down.
