B&H Photo has informed us that they are taking preorders for the Canon EOS-1D C 4K DSLR. The price is $11,999 and is expected to be available on December 26, 2012.

regardless of the fact that magic lantern guys(understandably) do not want to port the 1dc firmware to the 1dx, I still want to know if its possible and exactly if the internals are changed in any way from the 1dx's.

@ $12k, it's clear that if they knew what the 5Dii was when they released it... it would have been $15k.

12K for the camera, 10K for a monitor to view the images, many K for the computer to hold the images and drive the monitor..... for me, it just doesn't fly.

This, http://ardrone2.parrot.com/, is a far better option for me.....

Enjoy it - it's a great series, IMO.

I looked at the M52, and I was actually a little puzzled compared to its predecessor, the M41.    I like the idea of better low-light sensitivity (Canon claims a 20% improvement, although that's linear measurement - in photographic terms, that's a little less than 1/6-stop). But while both have 32 GB internal memory, the M52 lost one of the dual SD slots, and more significantly, it lost the EVF that the M41 has, which is great in bright sunlight.

I have the M41, and it's a great little camcorder.  I've also got the mini-hotshoe video light and the directional mic. If you're looking for a bag, the Lowepro Edit 100 is a good fit.

I just pre-ordered two ... not. I'm really wondering who would buy such a camera if even neuroanatomist isn't interested - has Canon found a market gap where it fits in as a "cheaper" option in comparison to even more expensive pro equipment, or is this even more "dead on arrival" as other recent Canon innovations?

What I do not get is why they are putting such a clearly "videographer"-spec'd system in a DSLR body and not in a movie camera body like Cxxx...

I am a cinematographer. I do not shoot on DSLR much. However I am in touch with people who do. I rent out my gear a lot.

Posting this to tell you guys that this camera is creating SUPER buzz where I am (Bombay) in the low budget film community... FYI.
