Anyone received their $2499 5D3 from bigvalueinc?

I wouldn't worry.  Its not uncommon for UPS to be behind.  Big Value has sold thousands of the 5D MK III's over the last few months.  When they sell 500 in a couple of hours, it does take some time to process and ship them, and UPS does not work on weekends except for uber high priced shipping items.
A few really big places like Amazon have UPS truck-trailers lined up at their loading dock 7 days a week, but that's a exception. They have so much volume that UPS pays their employees overtime to work weekends because its very lucrative.  Big value is not so large, and likely can't negotiate weekend pickup and delivery at normal prices.

Mine was shipped Thursday and I got it Friday.  But I am about 100 miles away from the company.

Mine was marked shipped Thursday, I'm 250 miles from them and it still shows that UPS hasn't picked up

They've also not responded to my emails.....

Just got mine today.. Rochester NY. They had shipped it out late Wednesday night I guess

Mine did come with warranty card and I registered it with Canon USA. They are US models which is nice.

Wow the thing knows how to focus in low light.. Lot to learn though. I think there are more menu screens then its max iso

It doesn't mean you are under Canon 1yr warranty, unless you can show the sale receipt from an authorizeed dealer - in this case BigValue is not.

Actually, you do not need a receipt if you register it.  It was a gift and grandma did not put the receipt in the package.  Canon will cover it, since its a USA model, and it was registered.

It doesn't mean you are under Canon 1yr warranty, unless you can show the sale receipt from an authorizeed dealer - in this case BigValue is not.

For what it's worth, I ordered a T4i from BigValue on 11/24. It was supposed to have been shipped on 11/27, but as some of you have noted with your 5DM3s, it was not received by UPS. I contacted BigValue through eBay over the weekend and they said they are "having a slight delay due to the holidays" and said it would be shipped on Monday. So far, it hasn't arrived at the UPS facility. UPS did, however, update their scheduled delivery date to tomorrow, 12/4. We shall see...

Canon doesn't care where the camera came from(grandma or grandpa). Original sale receipt is REQUIRED when it comes to 1yr service warranty.

Register online is just a helping you to save a stamp. Have you ever try to bring your Camera down for service? I did....the 1st think they ask is sale receipt from authourized dealer. PERIOD

I think the 1 year warranty is highly overrated. Most problems to the camera don't come until much later after a lot of wear and tear.

Out of five bodies I have bought in the last five years one failure. First 5D II at 8 months old the mirror and all the mechanisim associated it was replaced. I didn't think the warranty was overrated at the time.

A friend got the 2499 deal.  He ask me what's the difference for the warranty between my camera and his camera.  He said I also need to pay the service charge after one year warranty.  I haven't had the experience for the Canon service, so I have no idea about that.  Does anyone know if we can have cheaper service charge for our items from authorized dealers?

Just to update everyone, the T4i didn't arrive today as promised. Now I'm seriously wondering if BigValue needs revenues from sales in order to purchase its inventory as opposed to selling stock on hand. My credit card was charged on 11/24, and after ten days, it doesn't appear to have been shipped. Not good...

Sorry but you are just spreading misinformation. I have owned about 20+ 5D mark II bodies over the last 3 years and have had all of them in for service at some time. Not once have I ever sent in a receipt or warranty card to Canon and I have never been denied service under warranty.
