My 2499$ 5D3 package just came in. It has everything as promised and is in perfect condition. (Of course no 24-105L)

Great deal but took nearly 3 weeks to arrive.

Purchase from Big Value Inc. via eBay on 12/8 @ 1:13pm and it's now "In Transit:On Time" via UPS.  Shipping from Bound Brook, NJ with a 12/12/12 (Signature required) delivery.  I'll post photos as soon as it arrives.

Yes, a canon USA warranty card was in the box.

Placed my order December 8th, 7:54PM, immediately received order confirmation and processing email from BVI.  December 9th, 6:15PM, received order shipped notification with tracking number.  Item received today at 2:10PM.  Its a 5D Mark III body only box, all serial numbers match, canon USA warranty card and all.  Overall very happy with the risk/reward on this one...

I was tempted to buy one from BVI or similar eBay store for cheap since they claimed USA warranty. So I contacted Canon and they told me point blank if I bought from unauthorized dealer no warranty would be honored, period.

So I just paid the extra $400 to get it from B&H since I have no reason at all to believe Canon told me a lie about not covering it, and a 1yr warranty from BVI is $300.

For me $100 difference wasn't enough to make it worth the risk/hassle, so B&H it was.

And if you got one for $2500 and have it successfully warrantied by Canon USA for free, good for you, you really did save $500 or so.

so its just the 1 year warranty right? so if you buy from lets say BVI for 2499, you could still pay for the repairs correct?
honestly with a brand new camera that costs $3k, shouldn't we not expect to repair it within a year, or at least if it needs repair that it would cost under $500 dollars at least?

I live near the Jamesburg NJ canon service center. I've brought equipment (Canon lens) and my camera (5DMKII) there before without any warrantee and they've serviced it for free all the same. Couple the lens I got 2nd hand from ebay sellers and my camera was about 2-3yrs old (beyond the warranty). I had the warranty cards with me, but the guy there was really nice and didn't even look at the warranty cards. He says he'll just put down in the computer that all my stuff were recently purchased.

So I guess if you have the advantage of taking the equipment in person to the service centers, the warranty might not matter.

  Here's a more detailed update.  Camera arrived today, brand new, with Canon USA Warranty card.  Insanely fast shipping, brand new condition, matching serial numbers on card and camera (I covered them up just be extra safe) with a detailed Big Value Inc. receipt inside shipment box.  I'm not endorsing BVI, just providing feedback on my A+ experience.

Came in 24-105 Kit box (w/o lens of-course). Matching USA warranty card, some smudges on LCD, which I can deal with, BUT nothing else, no eye cup, battery, charger, cables, or neck strap, etc.!

E-mail sent to BVI, ready to open dispute with PayPal & CC company. I'll keep everyone posted....

I just got mine, all is in order - brand new, all accessories in sealed bags, body never touched, warranty card with matching serials.  Fired it up and it worked perfectly.  Truly a new camera with usa warranty.

have the same issue, only body and manuals, nothing else in the box. IMO CR should stop promoting BVI as their service and ethics have gone down the drain.
Gave them a few days to respond and see what happens before reporting them and filing a claim with paypal.
