GPS Receiver GP-E2 tagging RAW files

Hi all just recently bought a 5D Mark III and am really loving it.  I have been looking at buying the Canon GPS Receiver GP-E2 but I am unable to find confirmation if it will automatically tag RAW files when shooting with it attached to the hotshoe.  Does anybody have any experience with this device as far as it tagging RAW files when mounted on the hotshoe?

Yes, it will automatically tag RAW files when mounted in the hotshoe.
