I like the camping photo for more than just the IQ.  Wish I was there!

Since I've been shooting mainly birds I've avoided this thread but here's one I got in my creek today that's definitely not a bird.

I did my first shoot with the 6D the other day for a friend's party... I struggled quite a bit but after some CC on this image if people have the time.

(Actually the original there is the converted jpg version from cr2 and had been adjusted from the true "original" for brightness and highlight & shadows but you get the idea)

That is a cool shot.  I'm very fond of the Tamron in the transition zone, and this shot shows that quality.

I have been pretty happy with the Tamron. It's my 2nd copy. The 1st was atrocious, but this one is a keeper. Paired with the 6D, I have so many lighting situations opened to me. Funny enough, it was your articles that got me to not go for the 5DIII and the Canon 24-70, so thanks.

Unfortunately sample variation seems to be an issue with the Tamron, but it is my opinion that it is a lens worth getting a good copy of.  Mine is fabulous, and it looks like you've got a good copy, too.

I've got a 14mm Rokinon (Samyang) f/2.8 in hand right now for review purposes.  I'm having fun with it; 14mm is VERY wide on FF.  Here's one taken yesterday:

Lets us know your tips and suggestions for this lens.. I actually ordered one last Friday so it should be arriving in a couple of days. Looking forward to going wider than 24.

?? Dustin, this image is quite different from your usual, I find the colors quite oversaturated, unpleasingly so.  An interesting effect if you were trying for it....but not if you weren't.  Mayhaps a resizing issue.  It also looks like you had to push things in less than ideal light.  I DO like the composition and subject.  That's a lens I really want to like on FF.  Cheers!

This was definitely a processing choice.  I went for a combination of raised shadows/reduced contrast along with some bolder saturation in key colors.  Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea, but the photo itself has been well received in the communities that I have shared it in.

Interesting picture Dustin, pleasing effect, very polished. I always find portrait used for landscapes quite challenging but this works well !
