Gilbo65 Thank you for taking time to respond!

Looking at the images in this thread and some deals on 6D I'm now thinking that I should strongly consider 6D as my second FF body...

The amount of resolution this lens (Rokinon) has is really stunning.  It's amazing to zoom WAY into a huge scale picture like this and to see so much detail.

I would be interested to hear someone's findings that had used it on something like, say, a D800 and to see if the resolution holds on that more demanding sensor.

It holds up well.  Here's a comparison I read a couple weeks ago, between the Samyang, the Nikon 14-24, and the Zeiss 15mm f/2.8.  I still decided I didn't want to go this wide, wanted AF, and wanted to do close up macro (besides milky way shots)...so I bought a Sigma 24mm f/1.8 instead.  I think I like it pretty well, will probably keep it.  It costs less than the Rokinon 24mm f/1.4 to boot.

I was glad to get the shots of these flowers, located right next to my driveway, growing wild.  They didn't seem to bloom until late summer, and there was a lot of rain (I've never seen them before now).  22 inches above normal this year, and the year's not over yet!  Things are drying out a bit now...not sure how defined the fall color will be this year.

in honor of the night shots ---

This was in Vermont, unfortunately there was a full moon that evening - either way, Central Vermont with full moon gets you more stars than you'd get in buffalo!

shot with the 24mm 1.4LvII - a lens i was very sad to send back to lensrentals today.

It can be a challenge when there is a lot ambient light.  I'm trying to figure out the best "blackout zone" around me to try to be able to control lighting a bit more.

I know the sinking feeling. I borrowed the 24 f/1.4 II from a friend and returned it a week later than promised. He was not complaining ... i guess he was glad that he got it back at least  ;)

And for comparison, here is my 24-105 cropped to about 35mm maybe(?) as my ND filter is off an older lens and is a smaller size so needed an adaptor ring...
