Ecka - nice spider (what/where is it?) - what lens?

Bee Hawkmoth.  Thought it was a miniature hummingbird when it caught my eye since it never stoped flapping.

Just took my new 6D for the 2013 Toronto Honda Indy Car racing event. The center AF is not bad at all compare to my 7D.

I'm using Sigma 150mm F2.8 EX APO DG HSM Macro. I'm not familiar with this spider species, but I found it hiding under the leaves of mentha in the garden, waiting for a prey on a reeaally hot summer day (~37°C in shade) in Eastern Europe. I may have used a polarizing filter for this shot, don't remember really.

Lovely shots Jack. I especially like the second one. The butterfly fits perfectly in the green background.

Thanks Click and Ecka.

Ecka and others shooting small objects.  Has anyone used an extension tube on a telephoto.  I'm thrilled with my 300 2.8 II but can only get to within about 5'.  With some cropping I'm above real life size but I find little things fascinating.  It clearly often is an advantage to be able to stay some distance away but I need to fill the frame, so should I buy a short extension tube??

Again this one is 6D  300 X2

Many great shots are displayed here - confirming what a capable camera the 6D is.
I add a few more of my recent shots.
1. I am feeding the birds - and the mom is feeding her young woodpecker. 70-200mm f/4 IS @ 200mm, ISO 3200
2. One of my first macro shots with Canon 100mm L IS, @f/20, ISO 1600
3. 70-200 @200mm, f/8, ISO 1600
4. 24-105mm, @92mm, ISO 1600

One question about Auto ISO (not used above).
I use AV-mode. Then how do I influence the shuttertime used in the auto-ISO calculation, as I want shorter shutter-times than 'normal' ?
Keen amateur. Current kit: Canon 6D since April 2013. 24-105 f/4, 70-200 f/4 IS, 50 f/1.4, 100 macro f/2.8 L IS, Canon 1.4x II TC, 16-35 f/2.8 (I). 420 EX.

Some really great macro shots here.  I particularly like the "fly on blue" shot

People, all your pictures are fabulous. I am waiting for the monsoon to abate in a month or so when I will be able to shoot some new pictures. These days it just comes down and I don't like getting wet...

I'm in the same boat ... the weather is terrible these days. I'm OK getting wet but the gear isn't  ;)

Couldn't resist posting from archive - Taken with the 6D + 100-400 @ 400mm, ISO 2000 - cleans up quite nicely.
