Thanks guys for the votes of confidence.  I don't have a lot but I persevere, regardless.  Especially after chancing to take a look at:

http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=16169.msg297681;topicseen#new

Began to think maybe I shouldn't have a camera in my hand since I don't shoot manual!  :(

Never the less all the posts give bits of useful information that can help one improve.  One of my big problems is forgetfulness, like increasing exposure for a sky shot and then not bumping it back.  DPP is pretty wonderful at forgiving some of these things in the raw files - I'm impressed.

I like the redwood shot, Andy.  What is it, thousands of years you're recording in that shot?!

Here's a contrast to the redwoods, this pinkish wildflower is less than 1/4" across.  I only noticed it because I was patiently sitting for more waxwings to show up.  These things are all around us and like medicine to the soul.

Both shot as JPG, with the 24-105. Awesome câmera. Awesome focus accuracy.

So happy I pulled the trigger on the 6d+lens+printer kit.

I believe it was time to jump from my XTi. Poor thing screamed at nights and wasn't doing L lenses any justice, either.

I took the liberty of using the "Upright" feature in Lightroom-5. I did not crop it on purpose so you could see what would be lost...

Playing with my old 100mm USM macro on the 6D. Regal moth caterpillar, hand-held with diffused flash, ISO 800, minimal post.
Canon 6D & 50D, nice set of lenses
