Performance of Carl Zeiss 25 f2.8 ZF on 5d2
« on: December 13, 2012, 04:34:21 AM »
Hi all,
I have my cousin gifted the above Nikon lens from USA telling it is great for landscapes with very sharp images. But I do not have a suitable adapter to use on my 5d2 body.

1. Which adapter available in India?
2. Anybody have any experience with this combination?

I will be thankful for the help with any information in this subject.

Adapters for Nikon to Canon are very simple machined rings with a release mechanism, and are low cost.  The lens will work fine.

Its not a particularly wonderful Zeiss, but good for the price you paid.

Here is a review.  Note that they used a Nikon version with adapter for the test.

I'd check out the 25mm f/2, I've heard it's amazing.  From what I understand the 25mm f/2.8 is one of the least impressive in the ZE/ZF line.

WHY?  He got the lens free from a cousin, he is only shopping for a adapter.

Knocking on the 25mm is gonna make him think less of the kind gesture and bias him to think it is a throw away item ... It is still a relatively expensive lens and a great gift... Enjoy! It is after all a Zeiss :)
