Thanks.

From an insect perspective, I noticed they were hanging around the back of house, hovering on occasion (for 2-3 seconds), before darting off. If I stood still, peaking over the viewfinder (because they would dart off at the slightest movement), they would get within 1-2m from me. But sometimes, they would get within 30-50cms from the lens.

I had the twin macro flash setup, plus the 5D3 was set to 6fps, and in AI Servo mode. The tricky bit (from a camera perspective) was trying to get enough focus points to pick up on the fly, and not the background. Sooooo many out of focus / trees in focus shots. Thankfully, it's digital, not film ;)

Just tried this in dim lights, no flash, handheld, so had to shoot wide open at about 5 inches (with ext tube) and DoF  of less than 1mm.

Hi K-amps!

Really nice idea and good result. Especially for that circumstances.

The only thing I am thinking about is the WB and the color tones.
They look pleasing but a little bit off, maybe due to the light.
But nothing that must be changed. It's more about preferences.
sometimes you have to close your eyes to see properly.

March Fly in flight.

That is pretty awesome.  I've tried that with dragonflies before so I can only imagine something smaller.

I love mine but switching from MF to AF is a bit wonky. I have to rotate the ring a bit for it to kick in.

We had a fairly low tide yesterday so I went down to the tide pools along the cliffs at Cabrillo National Monument.  Lots of these Striped Crabs in the crevices.  Used a pair of small flashlights for illumination.

I spent way too much time trying to get a honeybee in flight one day. Finally used manual focus, f8 for good depth of field and spray and pray! Not a great shot, but the best I could get.

Drop of life.

I did use the 25mm extension ring, with the 100mm macro. It gave me a little more magnification, which I needed for a drop of water :)
