eos5m3 registering an AFpoint
« on: January 11, 2013, 08:29:54 AM »
I would like to register the middle AF point in single-point spot AF mode, and use the AF-ON button to start focussing.I use the AE lock button to start focussing any other manually selected AF point. However, the AF area selection mode isn't registered(only the AF point is) but changes to for example AF point expansion,or any other AF area mode you manually select. Is this something for a firmware update? ( and get rit of the blinking too?)

That's normal behavior - the selected point can be registered, not the AF mode.  You can submit a feature request to Canon...
