What is the best place to sell your equipment?

I sell my stuff on Amazon and on Craig's List.  Generally I price the CL things only a little higher than what I would get on Amazon.

But seriously, I have had really good luck with KEH.com for lenses and ebay for all else. There is a lot of ebay hate out there and I understand why, it just has worked out well for me personally and I have no problem with paying a cut to those who provide the platform.

Anyway I have sold to KEH myself, it is very easy and other large companies like B&H and Adorama will buy used items.

I have used eBay and Craigslist exclusively (60/40, respectively). I've bought stuff from KEH, but never sold anything to them because the prices I've been quoted on their site have been WAY below market value. I'm always stalking CL and eBay for excellent deals an broken equipment (I fix broken lenses, bodies, etc in my spare time).  Most of my equipment has been repaired or purchased by money I make by repairing and selling.

Where did you learn to do repairs? Basic repairs or more advanced? Any special drivers, wrenches or tools needed to tear down/re-build? Thanks!

Since my purpose in parting with gear has always been to get new equipment, I've always traded in to either KEH or B&H.

Yes, they perhaps offer a little less than I might get elsewhere, but they have been no hassle at all, and I get nice new items from them in about two weeks.

Considering the time and effort involved in eBay or CL, it's worked out for the best for me.

I'm not a huge CraigsList veteran but I've listed a lot on eBay every since '98.  It used to be fun and profitable.  Now it is a huge scam.  The eBay+PayPal Buyer Protection system is a huge risk and ripoff for the seller.  I wouldn't risk anything on eBay that you don't mind losing and having to issue a full refund to the buyer no questions asked after the scammer buyer reports any number of complaints.  It's criminal how bad they treat the sellers now.  Treat eBay literally like a garage sale and expect a certain amount of theft and loss.  And if you don't have the money in your PayPal account  to issue a refund, PayPal will do it anyway and put your PayPal account into negative balance and then sic the Credit Agency Gestapo on you.  It's essentially legalized online highway robbery.  You've been warned!
