From what I can see, the image itself does not show any banding.

well, try to do the time-lapse without editing the images, is there a difference?

Tried to make the time lapse video with the unedited jpegs (converted from raw) and the video still came out with the bands.  Again, most notable while the sun is near the horizon.  I am puzzled.  Is this caused by the raw to jpeg conversion?  Or is this a lens effect from the Samyang 14mm?

It seem there are many causes for banding, in addition to heavy editing, it maybe be caused by the lens, or by the video codec

Few wild flowers from 2014.

Thanks Click and Candyman...  TCMatthews, I think a good macro will serve you well.  Those are amazing flowers.  You have to get closer.  Well, its just my 2 cents...  ;)  Btw, a 100mm f2.8 macro usm L/non-L will do just fine.

I had it with me but it was just to windy.  It is kind of hard to keep the flower in focus when it is moving back in forth up 5-10 inches.  ;)  I was using a Tamron 28-75 on these and if the wind was less I could have gotten closer.  I was trying for a delicate balance whole flower in focus and back ground still melting.  The Tamron has a sweet spot at 75mm F4 for that.

Eldar, when it comes to shear stark massive mountains it's hard to beat the region between Jasper and Banff in the Canadian Rockies.  Then moving further west into BC, for example around Revelstoke, the climate gets much moister and there are streams running down mountainsides literally everywhere and the ground is just one massive bed of moss with thousands of mushrooms and the like.  Illecillewaet is not far from Relelstoke.

For anyone who might be interested here is one of the hiking trails up the mountain at Illecillewaet - vegetation, lake at the top and finally the summit.

I could be happy hiking in places like this for the rest of my days, well, assuming it's not raining. ;)

Eldar, from what I've seen, your neck of the woods is spectacular too.

Haven't posted many birds in this thread for a long time so for those who'd like to try birding and wonder about the 6D - it can do the job.

70-200 X1.4 at ISO 6400.  Not my preference but sometimes it's late and cloudy.
