6D Wireless control - possibilities for new features?

Learning my way round my new 6D. Played with driving it from my phone - for a scary self portrait see

The wireless control is pretty basic but works well enough. Strikes me that it opens up all sorts of opportunities for programmers to create things like an Intervalometer app.

I see that intervalometers are already available: http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=4905.0 but I guess as software it'd be one less thing to carry, as long as you have your phone with you.

What other possibilities are there?
  • Crazy slow but steady change in zoom for weird fireworks type shots?
  • Photo stacking at multiple focus distances?
(Yes the stacking would be done in post processing)
  • Other?
