12,800ISO 5DMKIII Images

So this is the first time I have really used the camera above 3200ISO as I think the results at 3200 are amazing. In this case I couldn't be bothered to set up a tripod or my flash set up, so used this as a little test.

My car was in for a service and BMW gave me a new F30 3 series as a courtesy car. First time I have driven one and the interiors are really nice so thought I would take a few pics add them to the BMW forum im apart of.

Anyway the results are incredible. Minimal editing in post with a little NR 30 luminance on PS CS5.5. All was shot with available light, shot at night so that was the interior light of the car. Shot with my 24-105mm L and 100mm L.

Anyway if anyone else has any other images at 12,800 add them! What a camera.

Tom you should shoot above 3200 more often as your just barely scratching the surface with the 5diii at 3200. For me 12,800 is very useful and even 25k in a pinch and not printing terribly large.

Yes well I came from the 40D then 7D. The 7D I thought everything but IQ was better, but wasn't satisfied. High ISO was better but 3200 was still about its limits and 100-400 seemed quite noisy.

So I got the 5DMKIII and I am very happy with it.

Believe it or not the first time I went out with it shooting some landscape, the available light wasn't great for small apertures and was shooting 1000-3200ISO at F11-16. Surely for landscape the worst idea....?

+2. The 7D was pushing it @ 3200 & Limited useage @ 6400. Downsizing the 7D files to 8MP made it much more bareable.

Probably similar. Thing with the 6D is they have added a higher noise reduction setting which makes the images look less noisy out of the camera, but the 5D MKIII will retain more details.

TBH its so close its not worth worrying about if your a pixel peeper then maybe

Took this shot some time ago @ ISO 12800 with my 5D3. Despite the 1.6x crop that provided more reach I do not miss my 7D at all.
