Who says you can't shoot action with a 6D and cheap lens (it certainly helped that the action was moving right to left, not moving toward me or away)! 

6D with EF 50mm f/1.8 STM, f/4 1/1000 ISO 100 heavily cropped.

6D with EF 16-35mm f/4 IS @ 16mm f/22 (to maximize the sun star effect) 1.6 seconds, tripod mounted

Great shots!  I've found shots like this (subject moving toward you) to be somewhat of a challenge, but you nailed focus.

Great shots!  I've found shots like this (subject moving toward you) to be somewhat of a challenge, but you nailed focus.

Thanks for the comments.  I was using a 70-300 4-5.6L and resting the camera on the deck rail for support.

Not sure, maybe to crop out the back of somebodies head.  I used the spot removal tools to remove that.  I do like the vertical crop better.
