Yes, I did.

I had originally purchased it new from Adorama in late December for only $4.00 more - $1,499.  I should have kept it.  I instead returned it for a 5D3 and regretted returning the 5D2 as a second/backup camera.  When I saw this, I snatched it up.

I just saw the same deal and want to make sure that I don't get one with an obscenely high shutter count. What is the rebate, if there is one? I couldn't find anything on-line.

I just saw the same deal and want to make sure that I don't get one with an obscenely high shutter count. What is the rebate, if there is one? I couldn't find anything on-line.

I got my refurb 5D2 for $1,319 + tax when they were running the 25% off deal right after Thanksgiving. It arrived with just shy of 1,600 shutter actuations. My experience with Canon Direct was excellent.

So I just received the 5D2 refurb. with 2,815 shutter actuations on it.  Judging by the date stamp on the main battery and the serial number, I am going to deduce that its a early to mid 2012 copy. 

The battery charger also looks to be a slightly older one with less refined looking labels/notations on it than the one that came with the new 5D2 I purchased in late December, but had returned, which looked identical to the one that came with my 5D3.

One thing that bugs me is the SET button on the back makes a slapping noise sometimes when you push it.  I forget if the previous 5D2 I used did same.  My 5D3 and 20D aren't like this.

If I return it for an exchange, I risk them not having one in stock when this gets back to them, I gather.

Any thoughts/feedback?  Thanks.  I am tempted to just purchase a brand new 7D instead to go along with my 5D3.  Once you add sales tax to the Canon Direct purchases, I could save ~$300-400 if I got a new 7D.

The 7D would be a big step down from the IQ of the 5D MK II.  It has better AF, but your 5D MK III is better yet.
 
I'd look for a good used 1D MK III, they are going for a low price, and beat out a 7D handily.

I'm happy I went for my MKII for $30 more new on Amazon.  Can promise you that you will not be disappointed by purchasing it again.  I've only had mine for a couple of month and haven't had much time to shoot, but when I do, I am so impressed.
