I use this lens all the time on a 5D and it is excellent. It is my general purpose lens. I shot this entire series with this lens:-http://alipaul.com/travel/kos/
I just shot a wedding and I only used the Sigma 50mm 1.4 and a canon 17-40 L, the Sigma is a fantastic lens, sharp and fast ,its the second wedding that I have done using this lens, its well worth the 500 bucks

An average Sigma lens with huge amount of CA on FF and kind a slow one. Changed to Canon F1.4 and happy with that.
Girlfriend... Canon 7D, Siggy 50/1.4 @ 1.4, ISO 100 at about 1/250th. The light through the window acted as a rim light and was pretty bright. I had to put a .9 ND filter to get the light down to the sync speed. The key light (above left) was gelled orange, set to manual at about 1/64th power.
Wonderful atmosphere. Great photo!
