I really don’t want to oversell this new piece of technology – but I really can’t help but imagine a hundred ways it will affect the way filmmakers approach their shooting,  regardless of their budget,  in such a "game changing" way.    To be fair this new device won’t be as affordable as the Canon 5D MKII was

Something cutting-edge video DSLR feature package or new platform. Maybe a breakthrough in sensor design & ergonomics/usability as well.

From his post.

(But one important HINT:  It’s NOT a camera… which makes it very interesting to thing:  what could make almost EVERY film maker out there interested in this new technology, regardless of what they shoot, regardless of budget… that’s NOT a camera.  And yes while I realize I’m posting this on April 1, this is absolutely not an April Fool’s joke.)

My guess would be an affordable cinelens line.
6D, 550D; Samyang 14mm f/2.8, Zuiko 28mm f/3.5, Samyang 35mm f/1.4, Zuiko 50mm f/1.8, Sears 55mm f/1.4, Helios 44-2 58mm f/2, Canon 85mm f/1.8, Carl Zeiss Jena 135mm f/3.5, Kenko Extension Tubes.

Interesting, maybe some sort of super crazy light and small, perfect stabilizer/gyro system for like $3000? That could be pretty darn awesome.

My guess would be an affordable cinelens line.

yeah comes directly after an affordable lamborghini on my list...  ;D

Ahahaha, I know it is a bold guess, but apart from a camera, lenses are one of the only things all videographers use. I don't really see what "revolution" could be made for lightening or sound recording, and gyros are not used in all styles of video. However, there actually exist a affordable cinelens line, made by Samyang.

Another thing I can think of would be some sort of Canon-made Metabone Speed Booster. It is some sort of reverse teleconverter, that enable the use of FF lens on smaller sensors with there native focal length and add one f-stop by shrinking the image circle it produce. However, I really don't see Canon, or any other major camera maker as a matter of fact, make such a product, as it would certainly hurt their full-frame sell, in favor of lower-end bodies. Moreover, they would have to find a way to work around the required lens to sensor distance to make it work.
