CR00:
I don't see buying a Tamron 90 f/2.8 VC Macro for $749 when you can buy a refurbished Canon 100L for about the same price and a year from now Canon 100L would be worth more.  Not counting that Canon 100L has a better IQ.

And how you you know this?  Do you own both a 100L and a T90VC?

drjlo:
I don't know why Tamron made the macro's focus ring so darn wide, basically half the lens.  I think it makes the lens look terrible.
One can buy the new Canon 100L for $899 shipped from Amazon right now, so the $749 price for Tamron is kind of hard to swallow.., although when street prices go down, it does have the advantage of lighter weight 550 g vs. 625 g.

I agree on this.  The Canon 100L is a killer lens, and most people would agree that even 10mm more focal length (and that extra little bit of working distance) makes the Canon a better bet.  I think we'll see the Tamron price come down pretty fast to the $600-$650 range, which will make it a very competitive offering then.
