CF-SD adapters
« on: April 11, 2013, 02:13:47 PM »
Has anyone had experience with CF-SD adapter card like these?

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_5?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=cf-sd+adapter&sprefix=CF-SD%2Caps%2C218

Is it intended for in-camera use, or for interfacing between CF card reader and computer?

If usable in camera, could be less expensive way to have higher capacity cards in cameras that use CF cards.

Is there a loss of write speed if used in camera with CF card?   What may be some of the other pitfalls? ???

You are going to see a small capacity and dismal write speed with a SD card in most cameras.  Assuming it will even work, expect worse in a adapter.

CF cards are better all around, as far as size, speed, and capacity.  Even a cheap CF card will write faster than a Class 10 SD card's 10 MB/sec top speed.
