Copper River 15" camera bag
« on: May 15, 2013, 09:33:43 AM »
Hello!  This is my first post here at CR, but I've been reading these forums for awhile.  All the reviews and insight here have led me to recent purchases of a Canon 7d, Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II, Sigma 17-70 C, and Tamron 70-200 VC.  I also have a YongNuo YN-468 II E-TTL Speedlite.  I do not plan on buying any more glass.  Also, I have protective filters for all 3 lenses and an RC-6 remote.

Now, I need a high quality bag for my gear that won't embarrass me in public.  I'd like to be able to carry all the above equipment with an ipad and a couple other smaller accessories like filters.

Due to being vain and possibly elitist, I've narrowed material choices to full grain leather and waxed canvas.  I know leather will be heavy and I can accept that.  This bag will be for trips, not shooting weddings.  Just based on Internet pictures, descriptions and reviews, I really like this bag from Copper River: https://copperriverbags.com/?product=15-journeyman-camera-bag.  It's full grain leather and carries a 100 year warranty.  It appears very Saddleback-ish. Massdrop.com has a group-buy (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/copper-river-leather-journeyman-bag?s=copper) with about 50 requests that would bring this bag down to $154 with the leather strap and D-rings (but without camera insert) to convert into a backpack.

Does anyone have experience with this or any other Copper River bag?  Also, any suggestions of other bags or accessories I may need?  Thanks for your help!
