7d2 v 1D4
« on: June 02, 2013, 04:18:07 PM »
I know this is pointless but I had a thought, If the 7D2 is as we think i.e looks the same, feels the same, works the same has a few bells and whistles added but..has a 5D3 or similar autofocus, a one or two stop advantage over the current one and is low 20s million pixels, that moves it into 1D4 territory. I have a 1D4 and sold my 7D as it didnt cut it in low light. If the new one, when it rears its head, is as many think it may be, will it replace a good few 1D4's? Id punt for one for sure. Basically a 5D3 that has a crop sensor and shoots faster. And no, I will never get rid of the 4, it will sit alongside it like my 1DS3, a camera so beat up it looks like ive used it for DIY when I lost my big hammer but still works %100 fine.

Kind of difficult to compare an existing camera with one not yet released or even announced.

normally i'd second what's been said, but not today.
so you are comparing a real camera with an imaginary camera, then saying that you would never replace your mk4 for this imaginary camera. i thought this was entitled "7dmk2 v 1d4"?

now that i think about it, if anyone out there wants to replace their existing camera with an imaginary camera, please get in touch with me. i'll gladly swap you an imaginary camera for your real camera. PM me!  ;D

enough said  ;)

seriously i would ask the same question for wildlife photography between a used 1D mark IV and a 5 D mark III... Here in France we can find a 1D mark IV in good condition for 2000 € ; the 5D III is still around 2800 €

Seemingly pointless thoughts are the best ones imo , I still want my 1.4 converter with build in 1.4 converter to slide in place like on the 200-400

1.4 and 1.96 converter in one , yes please, don't care if it's bulky or fragile

My imaginary camera, the 7D2, also comes with the 500F5.6 imaginary lens as a kit for only $1500 imaginary dollars...... and it is better camera than the 1D5....

The 7D Mark II prototypes don´t have a 5D Mark III AF-system and less than 20 megapixels.

are you one of the Canon's prototype testers? judging by the info you just wrote and your signature (although i would expect this should be a secret). if not, where did it say none of the 7d2 prototypes doesnt have 5d3 AF?
