Could this 75+ megapixel sensor be a Foveon? Pixel counts are calculated by the layer with them, which makes bigger numbers easier to state.

Hmm 25 MP x3=75 MP a la Sigma's way of counting MP?  Interesting thought  8)

Interesting thing is that Canon appears (from the 70D) to be counting pixels as output pixels (or individual payer pixels), not as per how many photosites are read. Which I think is a good thing, it just makes sense.
