I installed one of these......
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/889602-REG/Giottos_sp8320_AEGIS_Pro_Glass_Screen.html
on my 6D the day I got it, haven't thought about it since until this thread.

It's listed as for 1Dx and 5D III, both have 3.2" screen specs, 6D screen spec is 3". Not an exact fit but 100% useable.
There is now an air gap the thickness of the perimeter adhesive between the protector and the screen.

The GGS protector is on both LCDs on my 6D with no bubbles. <$9.00 shipped:

I'm using this on my 6D and it's great.  No bubbles, easy to install.

I've now added a cheap HAMA universal screen protector foil until my glass one from ebay arrives. Sadly I already have a scratch :(

I have the GGS screen protector on mine. No air bubbles and it's very durable. My only gripe about using a screen protector is that it negates the anti-glare coating on the LCD. So when it's bright outside, it's a little harder to view the LCD screen. I guess it's worth the protection, though.
