This is not fair because I paid more for mine back in March! However, I've made a lot more from selling images with it since then, than the difference in price of the new units.
Not sure I agree that a refurb is a "better deal". However, if that price for the refurb becomes the norm for refurb units, it seems to me the price on the used market for 6D's will be falling a bit more than it has already (which isn't much). Time will tell, but I do not see this becoming the normal refurb price.http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B009B0MZ8U/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1383251531&sr=8-1&keywords=6D+body
In the above, the lowest price on a refurb is $1480 plus shipping...of course Amazon takes their ~10%, so that would bring the amount the seller gets down to ~$1330...still more than $100 higher than the deal "deals wiz" posted.
The lowest price (at the time of my post) in the above, for a "used like new" 6D is $1599.99 plus shipping. Meaning the seller will get approximately $1440...but the buyer has to pay the $1599.99, plus shipping.
At this time it seems you are better off buying a new 6D than a used one. As for the refurbs, it's up to you.
It makes me wonder just how low new 6D's will get over the coming 2013 holiday season. I'm guessing not much below $1500, if that. Anything is possible.
As for refurbs and used units, it seems to me the 5D3 offers a bit more of a discount, at least at times...when compared to the new units. Unless of course the big New York/Brooklyn 2 or 3 retailers decide to suddenly heavily discount the 5D3.
