This photo was shot in the Zoo du Lunaret in France.  It was in and Amazonian-like temperature-controlled area.  My girlfriend specializes in the acoustics of crocodilians and so I was interested in hanging out with this Caiman a while.  My intention with my gear at the moment was to shoot birds... but I made due with my long setup for this shot!  There was about 1" thick plexi-glass in front of his face - hence the high-contrast necessary to make the shot look nice.

Canon 7D, EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM & EF 1.4x II teleconverter, 185mm @ f/4.5, 1/40sec with IS on, ISO 400.  RAW image edited in Photoshop and Lightroom for high-contrast, color-boosting, sharpening, and lots of noise-reduction.  All edits were done manually.  I've titled this "Creepy Caiman" as I think it's appropriate.
