Thanks for the heads up. I did a mammoth shoot just the other day, taking over 3,800 pics in a relatively short period of time. The two 32GB 1000X Lexars are great and suffice for most events, but occasionally you do need more capacity. Now I just need to decide whether to buy one 64GB 1000X, or two more 32GB 1000Xs.
1D X + backup + different L lenses etc.

You have kind of answered your own question.
If you're pushing up against the capacity of your current 32 Gb cards, then.....well:) Time to buy up.
There is usually a "sweet-spot" in the Gb per $ calculation.

Just a heads up.

I purchased 4 128GB CF Lexar (1000x) Pro Cards around 12 months ago, 1 arrived Dead as a doornail, it was replaced, eventually ended up with 4 that worked. The reason I purchased these cards was they had a speed advantage over the 128GB Sandisk Extreme Pro Cards at the time, not a lot, but I felt they would be an advantage in my 1Dx, 2 Cards, same faster speed.

In the last 12 months I've had seriously corrupted files on all but 1 of these Cards, never ever ever had that issue with my 128GB SanDisk Extreme Pro Cards, never. And the Cards were used in 2 different 1Dx bodies, so the issue has been the Lexar Cards not the 1Dx.

I had to use SanDisk Rescue pro on 3 occasions to access my files as the Cards could not be read out of the Camera.

I now use these cards only as a back up to my SanDisc Cards and only after completing a deep reformat on all 4 Cards, not been impressed at all with Lexar, and at a premium on price to Sandisk, I'll not purchase another Lexar Card after my poor experience with these.

Perhaps the lower capacity cards aren't as prone to issues, don't know, don't intend to find out.

I have a handful of Lexar 1000x 32 GB cards and have not had any problem with them. Hoping to get some 64 GB cards but would like to find a real sale.

As I never had a problem with my Sandisk cards (2 X 8GB Extreme III and 3 x 32GB, various  Extreme versions) I find no reason to try something else.

Agree with no problems with Sandisks (or limited number of Lexars)

Until recently the Lexar were a slight bit faster than Sandisk in 1Dx.  Now I think Sandisk is the speed king

Unless SanDisk has introduced a new card then the Lexar 1000X are still the fastest on the market.

Personally, I am not a big fan of buying the latest high capacity (storage) cards on the market. 128GB is such a new card that I was never tempted to buy it, preferring to go with 32GB or 64GB variants. I still am.

Problem is with these cards, once we have a major problem we would probably all switch to the other brand. Then if that brand let us down, perhaps we would move back or switch to yet another.

So far my Lexar 32GB 1000X have worked flawlessly, and I am happy they have this promotion on. :-)

1D X + backup + different L lenses etc.

What's the max size card the 5D3 can accept?

Unless SanDisk has introduced a new card then the Lexar 1000X are still the fastest on the market.

Currently the Lexar Pro 1000x transfers @ 150mbs

Just recently SanDisk introduced the new Extreme Pro CF Card @ 160mbs (the older cards like my own transfer @ 100mbs which is why I thought to try the Lexar Cards) The new SanDisk have capacities now up to 250GB (USD$1K each)

Sandisk have also just introduced the new Extreme Pro CFast 2.0 CF Cards transferring @ 350mbs to 450mbs. (4k compliant, 120GB card costs USD$1,900)

If you got them from B&H or Adorama, you can call them and get the price difference as long as it's within 30 days of purchase.

+1 ... currently Lexar CF cards are better value for money ... I've used both SanDisk & Lexar for over a decade and never had a single issue with either of them.

Thanks ... I did not know that ... do you know if it applies to Non-USA customers?
