This is basically accurate except for one thing. 
 
Authorized Canon Dealers CAN sell for any price they want.  They just cannot advertise at below the MAP price.  To get around this, B&H and Adorama do not show the discounted price that is often below the MAP until you place the camera into their shopping cart and begin the checkout process.  Of course, if you go into the store, you can also negotiate prices, and might do very well if you are a good negotiator and offer cash.
