Always a good day when I come here and see you're posting some of your fine images!!

Thanks.
Walter: Were you listening to The Dude's story? Donny: I was bowling. Walter: So you have no frame of reference here, Donny. You're like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie and wants to know...

Agreed. When you are traveling like this, what's your technique for finding people and convincing them to pose? You do a great job of getting people to let you into their homes and their lives. Any secrets?

Thanks all for looking and taking the time to reply!

In our small Karoo towns the people are incredibly friendly, but also very inquisitive which makes it a lot easier! Sometimes people just see me with a camera and then invite me to come and take their photographs. Sometimes I  'bribe' them with a packet of chips or a lolly pop. Otherwise I just pluck up my courage and ask, more often than not I get a positive response. Just showing them pics on the lcd also works well. My plan is to get one of those small Canon portable printers to give them pics on the spot which should make things even easier!

I have friends who moved to Calitzdorp... and there was me thinking it was a tiny town. In comparison, it's a thriving metropolis. :)
Great photo's.

Thanks, enclosed a screen print from LR showing exactly where I took each photograph and also how small the town really is!
