It occurs to me that putting the GPS inside a magnesium alloy body might not actually work because the magnesium alloy body is going to act as a pretty good shield and keep out all of the useful RF from the satellites.
It will be curious to see how well the GPS inside the A77 fares or how/where they've done the wiring for the GPS antennae in that camera.
