Wow. Love it! And as it was shot on Boxing Day, perhaps we can say it is a knockout shot! ;-)

Great shot, keep up the good work.

Thanks Candyman, yes, they are wonderful lenses, of the 2 I prefer the 55, nothing at all wrong in any way with the 85 either, I just prefer the view on the 55. The Zeiss lenses are not for every situation, but for those static situations I'm not sure there's anything Canon, or Nikon, or anyone other than Leica can come close to.

On a recent trip that covered Java, Bali, Burma, Cambodia & Japan I went with the 1Dx & Zeiss 15/21/55 & 135, only Canon lens I bagged was the 200f/2, that lens selection worked pretty well in most situations on a trip like this, would have been hopeless though for a wildlife trip in Africa. I had with me as well the Sony a7r, which I found not so impressive, and the Nikon Df + Nikon 58f/1.4, which I found highly impressive in particular low light situations, probably better than the 1Dx in low light, except in the AF set up, Nikon handicapped the AF to some degree on the Df, in street photography I found the 1Dx way too big, the a7r always fiddly, the Df about perfect.

I imagine I'll receive some hate mail now   :o

No hatred against Nikon here. ::)
But, you like optics of the Nikon 58mm F1.4? All test pictures I saw showed a similar picture quality to the Nikon 50mm F1.4G, and did not look like what you would expect from a lens that costs $1700. ???

I may have been a snob, after using Sigma 50mm Art for a few months... :P

I do like the 58, I can't compare it to the 50's as I've not used anything but the 58 in this range, I do have the 24f/1.4 & 85f/1.4, all superb lenses. The attraction of the Df was the look, the sensor, and the size, it's not a perfect camera, but I've not used one of those as yet. But as a tool for Street & General photography it's a pretty good camera, it's a pity Canon haven't put something like this onto the Market, Nikon made a leap of faith here, not sure how that has worked for them, he Df certainly has it's detractors, but I always liked my Nikon & Canon film cameras to look at, they had appeal that today's dslr cameras lack, at least in my opinion, I like the camera.

I have the Art 35 for my Canon set up, like the lens, only issue is like the Otus Lenses the Art 35 & 50 aren't exactly low key, so I stuck with the Nikon Lenses for the Df & remained with Primes.

1DX and 70-200 2.8 II or 200-400 /4 (I lost the raw files to a dead hd, only have the previews extracted from LR´s cache folder)...

Nice image Nikolai.

If you still have the Card you used in camera to take the Images, even if you've done an "in camera" reformat, you have a very good chance to recover the original RAW files from the Card, SD or CF.

I've used two sets of software, both work, one costs, the other is free.

Wondershare is free, but limited, it will recover Files with excellent results, works for WIN/OSX.

http://www.wondershare.com/data-recovery-mac/photo-recovery-mac.html

The other is SanDisc Rescue Pro, requires a license, but well worth it in my view.

Good Luck.
