1DX and 70-200 2.8 II or 200-400 /4 (I lost the raw files to a dead hd, only have the previews extracted from LR´s cache folder)...

Nice image Nikolai.

If you still have the Card you used in camera to take the Images, even if you've done an "in camera" reformat, you have a very good chance to recover the original RAW files from the Card, SD or CF.

Thanks, I did try that, but no luck, all had been overwritten.

Thank You Gentlemen, this particular Male was entrancing, the eyes I have never seen this bright before on any Lion, and I've Photographed a few, he is the Alpha Male of a coalition of 3 Brothers in the Mashatu Plains area, on this particular morning he was on his own & was following vultures in the sky hoping they would lead him to a fresh kill, so he was constantly looking upward and the light was just about perfect.

Another day in Paradise.

Shot it slow to concentrate the eyes, the rest of the young lady in motion.

A shot from today's outing with the kids, I was planning on shooting them, but lucky me I didn't bring the 24-70, but the trusty 200 f2. Shot wide open as the sun was setting. I have 20 shots in this burst and they are pretty much all tack sharp on the head. The original shot was a tad brighter, but I got better punch in the color if I underexposed a little.

the details are outstanding, well done!!

Appreciated Ray5, Thank You.

I think a lot of it is about opportunity, I'm fortunate that I'm able to get to these places, and if you spend enough time in places like these the opportunity for interesting Images pretty well always presents at some point.

It does take patience, I have lost count of the number of times I've spent 4 or 5 hours following a Leopard etc, sat in the vehicle waiting under a tree for that special shot of a Leopard jumping, and a vehicle full of people will pull up, shoot off a number of Images of a sleeping Leopard, then once that's been "ticked" as "done" disappear in a cloud of dust for the next Image on the list.

I simply never share a vehicle on Safari, unless it's with my Family of course, it allows you to be in more control of what you do.
