The Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax) commonly abbreviated to just Night Heron in Eurasia, is a medium-sized heron found throughout a large part of the world, except in the coldest regions and Australasia  (where replaced by the closely related Rufous Night Heron, with which it has hybridized in the area of contact).

It was shot using a Gitzo GM5561T monopod. The 500's light enough to shoot hand held but not for prolong periods of time wherein you have to wait for the surfers to get into position and especially not on sand.

Holly crap dolina these are amazing!  The surf ones are really nice but I also like the picture of the girl on the beach being taken in picture!  It is three dimentional!  I can see why so many people love this lens too!  Thanks for sharing!
