so, If my speedlight foot-mount broke, i can only send it into nikon (return timetale around 6-8weeks) instead of ordering the foot and replace by myself? That's absurd.

nah, i don't think nikon shoots themselves in the foot. perhaps an arrow in the knee, but not the foot.  ::)
