The winning picture is simply mezmorizing (ok I'm sure I did not spell this one correctly but you get the drift!).  I guess the one must not be afraid of heights to take such picture.  Very amazing...

Good pictures are wherever you are. This good contest reaffirms my belief in that dictum -- and it hasn't hurt my love of B & W either.

Congratulations to all who shared their images and hope; inspiration all around.

Thanks to CR for facilitating a very good thing overall.

My hope for a next contest is for an easier viewing experience of the entries. I'd also ask the winners for more detail about their winning images -- maybe a brief blurb about circumstances surrounding the image, tech specs, equipment of course, etc.

Very curious - where was the winning shot taken?

if i'm not mistaken, the location of the photo was taken in Chicago Illinois at the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower).  I know in this city is the only place with a glass balcony all around

Yep, bjaigorgor is correct.  I live in Chicago and have been up to the observation deck of the Sears Tower (proper name or not, few Chicagoans will call it Willis Tower) twice since the glass balconies were installed.  Kinda hard to tell from the photo, but the floor is glass as well - you can look straight down and have nothing but a few inches of glass between you and 100 stories of air.  Fun place to take friends, especially if they're afraid of heights.

And yes, the photo was taken on the Skydeck at Sears/Willis Tower in Chicago.  Got lucky and caught the girl alone in the window, normally the windows are full of people.  The photo was taken with a Canon 5D and 17-40mm f/4L lens for those interested.
