« on: April 05, 2016, 07:33:58 AM »
Brookman delivers engineering samples of 33MP, 120fps BT3300N for 8K Super Hi-Vision broadcast, which was co-developed with NHK and Prof. Kawahito's Group of Shizuoka University.

The sensor will be made commercially available could this be the sensor Canon is using?

There are a lot of companies doing R&D into 8K right now, and Companies like Canon are likely testing their own.  A company that makes sensors has to be very careful about testing sensors from another company, lest they be accused of stealing trade secrets.

In short, it seems very unlikely to me, NHK is the one who is testing devices made with competing sensors.
