It's important to know that if your lens elements aren't tuned properly, no amount of in-camera micro-adjust will get you sharp images.

Have your lens serviced by Canon!  You'll be tickled when you get your lens back and you realize that all of your stress is gone.  Now you're the proud owner of a "Sharp Copy" and you don't have to be envious of others who were lucky and purchased a sharp lens out of the box.

Hi, I am just a Silver member and I feel my copy is bit soft (even after AFMA using Focal). Do you know how much canon usually charge for such adjustments ?

I understand that shipping charges would be on me but other than that how much does Canon charge and what is the usual turnaround time ?

My copy is great.  The 24-105L is not a "sexy" lens, but yet I find that some of my best work comes from it, mostly because it is competent and because of it's great focal length it tends to "around" when I am shooting.  Here's a few faves from it:

Here are three of Rievaulx Abbey in Yorkshire, England, founded by the Cistercian Order in about 1180, and finally ruined by King Henry VIII in about 1548.
