Canon CPS Preorders :: Gold vs. Platinum

I saw in the 1DX Update that Platinum CPS members get priority ordering on the 1DX body.  But, my question is, do Gold members also get an opportunity once the platinum notifications have gone out?  Or are they just like any other member of the general public at that point?

As a fellow Gold CPS member, I venture to guess that we are not elite enough to warrant a slot in the same category as Platinum members.....

From what Canon USA says, this is an offer that they haven't heard of and said that it might just be a UK thing since the UK is much smaller.

UK CPS Platinum requirements are 3 Pro bodies 5dII or 1 series (1dIII or later) plus 4 current L series lenses

The other point being, we don't pay for our membership...

I suspect that the package offered to members differs from country or region...

I wouldn't get too upset about it. I'm fairly sure that those who qualify for platinum in the UK are (by and large) the sort of pros who would have been first out the starting gate to want and get a 1DX any way...
