I recently used this http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec don't be fooled, it is a terminal command power house, it is completely free and based on a very powerful program called Testdisk.

Plan A (help from my friend) didn't work. I have downloaded PhotoRec, but an issue is, the CF card can't be seen on my computer (Windows 10). So PhotoRec doesn't show the card to be worked on. Do I take it that the card is really dead?

Many Thanks!  ;D Do you have a facebook account?  ;)

Hi niels, I sent you a PM.

No. I am happy to work on it for free if you send me the card.
Too often we lose sight of the fact that photography is about capturing light, if we have the ability to take control of that light then we grow exponentially as photographers. More often than not the image is not about lens speed, sensor size, DR, MP's or AF, it is about the light.
