It is disgusting. Sadly a product of the internet age where anyone can post content anywhere (news or photos or ...) and make it look legitimate.

Actually, I am stunned. I didn't think people would do such things.
Not cool, not cool at all.

This person, whoever they are, is very disturbed. They seem to crave attention - I would posit they are extremely narcissistic along with being a pathological liar (the two diagnosis are often correlated). Hope they are caught, although I'm not sure how... Probably have several different online/electronic identities would be my guess.

The Russian photojournalist that commented on the article and news of this big lie said that in this new digital online age institutions and organizations need to come up with better means of doing background checks on individuals making claims and submissions of work. I agree.
The worst picture ever is the one not taken: so shoot, shoot, shoot! Know your equipment first however to avoid as much as possible, bad photos. ;-)

Shooting with a Canon 40D & 7D, w/70-200mm f2.8L IS I, EF 24-85mm f4.0-5.6USM, Vivitar Series I 400mm f5.6 Olympus mount w/Fotodiox converter.

No it's not. People have been passing themselves off as something they're not forever. I'd argue that the internet males it easier to check whether people are genuine.
