Firmware: Canon EOS 6D Mark II v1.0.3
« on: November 08, 2017, 08:13:44 AM »
Canon has released a minor firmware update for the EOS 6D Mark II.

Firmware Version 1.0.3 incorporates the following fix:

  1. Corrects an erroneous display that may appear when some third-party accessories are attached to the hot shoe.

Firmware Version 1.0.3 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.0.2. If the camera’s firmware is already Version 1.0.3, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

Download firmware v1.0.3 at Camon USA

Hi CR.
Well who knew, Canon can and will fix incompatibilities with third-party items where it sees fit!
I'm guessing these are studio lighting controllers and not YongNuo flash guns :o and must not impinge on Canon's profits like say fixing the Sigma lens issues would (and why should they, Sigma could buy the licence)!

Cheers, Graham.

If Sigma buys a license for Canon AF algorithms, then their lenses may cost as much as their Canon counterparts. 😬
Would anyone still buy Sigma?

Hmmm, Sigma Art optical performance with Canon L AF performance at Canon L pricing doesn't sound too bad to me.

I wish Sigma had a FW fix for their 35mm Art underexposing by a good two stops in LV mode on the 6D2. I don't use it often, but it is another useful tool to have available.
