Annular Eclipse May 20th, 2012
ksuweh:
Is there anyone else that is planning on shooting this rare event? Is anyone traveling to be better centered with the alignment, &/or to a better photographic location? What locations are you thinking about?
Adam Schallau:
I'll be photographing it and will most likely be at the Grand Canyon, but I'm considering other locations as well.
ksuweh:
To the best of my knowledge, the last time there was an annular eclipse sunset in what we know as the United States was on December 18th, 1740! This is a RARE event!!
mbiedermann:
According to the following NASA page, the best US sites to view the eclipse might be in Hawaii or possibly Alaska.

I'm getting married in May (an Arizona no less!), although we haven't set a date yet. It's small enough to be flexible, and this just sounds awesome! An annular eclipse to me looks a bit like a wedding ring, how cool! Now selling this might be the hard part.... :)
